Dr. Lawrence Newman received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York with Phi Beta Kappa honors. He received his Doctor of Medicine from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his surgical internship and his urologic residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He was certified by the American Board of Urology in 1994 and most recently recertified in 2013. Dr. Newman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Newman is a Member of the Medical Executive Committee at Spring Valley Hospital and was the Chief of Surgery at Lancaster Community Hospital in California for 10 years. He practices general urology with a focus on prostate cancer, benign prostate disease, stone disease, as well as treatment for erectile dysfunction, and low testosterone. Dr Newman’s extensive experience in prostate cancer in the spectrum from diagnosis to treatment includes the technique of transperineal mapping biopsies, Space-Oar Implantation, cryotherapy, and the brachytherapy approach to prostate cancer radiation as well as minimally invasive treatment options for prostate cancer like HIFU, or high intensity focused ultrasound. He became interested in the Sonablate HIFU technology and trained outside the US prior to FDA approval in 2015. He now offers HIFU to patients in Las Vegas.

Dr. Lawrence Newman and his wife have three children and they have lived in Las Vegas since 2007. He is an avid squash player and enjoys movies.
